Gļebs Panteļejevs’ latest solo exhibition „Mist Zone” that is on view at the Riga Gallery from 29 March 2007 is deliberately conservative. Nine new stand sculpture works made of cast bronze and aluminium will be exhibited. Only realistic works will be on view, contrasting with Panteļejevs’ previous exhibitions. Most of exhibited sculptures resemble their models, and the artist has worked exclusively in the academic style.
The title of the show “Mist Zone” express the artist’s present view of life and world: - some things are clear but some are misty, the boundary between the present and future is vague, shifting and unclear. Two works titled “Mist Zone” will be shown at the exhibition. The main idea is to demonstrate the effect of eraser in sculpture, like in digital processing – one part of the sculpture is real, another seems to be erased.
Gļebs Panteļejevs graduated from the Latvian Academy of Art in 1991.
